LOCKDOWN 3.0

Here we go again and I will admit that my enthusiasm and optimism for 2021 has been a bit dented by the need for a third period of lockdown. We can both still work thank goodness and are still healthy (though possibly a little stout post-Christmas) and so I know I shouldn’t complain, however with any form of communal fun on hold for the foreseeable future, the next few weeks look a bit bleak.

Any thoughts of dry January went swiftly out of the window, though I am trying to drink on fewer days than I don’t drink on per week (drinking 3 v not drinking 4), so the weekend is back starting on a Friday evening instead of a Thursday (or a Wednesday on Book Club weeks), from an alcohol consumption perspective.

I have renewed my resolve to learn how to play Backgammon during lockdown, requiring Catering to really step up and deliver on his promise to teach me. Other than that it’s all about staying as chipper and upbeat as we possibly can, given the circumstances and daily virus updates. Woo hoo another PM announcement, guaranteed to drive you to drink – though I will admit to loving my Tim Spector C-19 ZOE weekly YouTube updates (I fear I may have a small crush on him).
