The new kitchen is finally ordered and we have a start date for the builders, so it just remains to pack the contents of the kitchen into boxes and dismantle the old kitchen.
We were all ready to order the skip and take a sledge hammer to the kitchen units when a friend (thank you Dave) suggested we sell the kitchen on eBay. Surely not – no one would want our slightly worn kitchen would they? Well it turns out they would and a lovely father & son duo arrived with a van to dismantle it and take it away. They didn’t want the granite surfaces, so Catering and Ralf did take a sledge hammer to that, but everything else was squirrelled away and it is now re-installed in a farmhouse in Herefordshire.
There was some doubt for a while as to whether it would all go in the van, but the last piece was wedged in the front between the driver and his navigator. So we were left with what I thought was a big hole in the house. Little did I know…
